UMACO To Offer FREE Exercise and Fitness Education Classes Starting June 1st 2016
Effective June 1st 2016, UMACO will begin educational class sessions with a focus on weight management and diabetes for network patients. The class is taught by Tim McHugh PT, DPT, OCS, Cert MDT to include topics on Aerobic Exercise, Resistance Exercise and Exercise with Diabetes.
“We see this as an investment in our patient’s overall health,” said UMACO Director of Clinical Integration/Program Coordinator, Donna Gunkel.
“Our goal is to help our affiliated physicians provide the best care possible while maximizing opportunities for shared savings, utilizing our common electronic medical record platform to coordinate care delivery,” said Kemal Erkan, CEO, UMACO. “Without Cerner’s health care information technology and support, it would have been difficult to become a Medicare Shared Savings ACO.”
The group sessions will be held Wednesdays (from 3:00pm to 4:15pm) and Fridays (from 2:00pm to 3:15pm) at the United Medical Business Office’s Conference Room in Bear, Delaware. Our future plans include, for the convenience of our patients, sessions to be held at the American Surgery Center in Wilmington, DE – dates and times to be determined.
